Wolftech policy meeting 10-22-2009

Kevin and I did not attend the entire WolfTech policy meeting, as the group is concerned about meeting space and OIT already has Tom F. and Dan E. as representatives.  We attended to provide details of the iLO schema extension ISO had proposed, and left promptly afterwards.

We are approved to extend the WolfTech schema for ilo cards.  If it appears that ilos share the same name space that regular computers use, then WT is going to adopt the naming convention that ALL ilo/drac management objects MUST use the dash-NM naming convention that ISO has already standardized upon.  Sometimes, it's good to be the first to champion a cause.  Date for the update to be determined.I

It's also OK for us to start testing the DRAC extensions in WolfTest as soon as we're ready.

On datum that we should be sure to gather is what visable changes an extension may have, both for end users and OU admins.  Schema extensions that don't add tabs in MMC to every object are easier to approve than those that must be installed, configured, or otherwise opt'd in.
