Request for new 2008 VM servers from COE

Request for 2008 servers.

CitrixClientLinux

If you receive Error: "You have chosen not to trust the "Thawte Premium Server CA" the issuer of the server security certificate. Download ThawteRoot.txt and rename it to ThawteRoot.crt from and place it under /usr/lib/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts. This will resolve this issue.

Tracking of Critical Updates on ETSFARM

I have completed the Microsoft critical update work on etscps05 and etscps06. I also noticed some applications that were not load balanced to etscps06 and were supposed to be. They are PSLabor, Project Microsoft only, Pidgin, EDI1_PuTTY, and EDI2_PuTTY. I associated PSLabor and Project Published Applications to the server since they were already installed. I needed to install Pidgin, and PuTTY, which I did. I will get those applications tested later.

I have disabled etscps03 and etscps04 to start on their Microsoft Critical updates.

Full Citrix client *not* in academic windows kit this fall

Alas, despite the previously posted claim that we'd ship the Citrix client in the upcoming Fall academic windows "kit" it doesn't make sense to do so, so we're not. :-)

The Web client on ACSFUSE needs to match the "full" client installed on the desktop, and so we need to upgrade ACSFUSE to 11.0 or downgrade it to 10.0 in order to match a stable full client release. The 10.2 version on ACSFUSE has had problems in the full client world, and should be avoided.

acsfuse certificate applied

A certificate renewal was created and sent to Tim Gurganus. He processed the request and sent me the new certificate. I have applied the certificate to etsfuse1. You have to make the request and finish the request on the server via IIS Manager. The Secure Gateway configuration also needs to be redone. Running through the Secure Gateway configuration will temporarily kick users out because it restarts the Service.

Citrix client to be part of ex-ITD's "kits"

We had a couple of meeting today, one for "desktop" (see https://xteams.oit.ncsu.edu/desktop) at which it was decided that the Fall Macintosh client would have the ICA client installed, and a second for the team building apps for the fall windows "kit" in which it was decided that we'd do the same for Windows desktops.

So, all of the ex-ITD clients will soon have Program Neighborhood capabilities. Woot.
